every tree has potential.
I offer pruning services primarily: This comes in a variety of forms depending on the clients particular goals and what the tree needs. The goal with all pruning objective is to improve aesthetics, health, structural soundness and to manage/direct growth appropriately.
Structural Pruning: The main objective here is to adjust the branch architecture/ structure. Without structure, we simply have a mass of foliage. Good structure implies soundness and sense of order and organization; the opposite of chaos and messiness. By removing and reducing particular branches we gain space, air and defined levels; this affects overall health and diverts growth to intended directions. The ultimate result reveals a stronger tree structure with clearly defined branching and highlighted foliage; the impression goes from thick, dense and convoluted to light, airy and organized, while still maintaining a natural feel.
Basic Maintenance: For trees with good structure already established, I typically only remove dead, dying and diseased branches. Then thin, reduce and remove any new growth to maintain health, size and aesthetics.
Restoration Pruning: Often times, trees haven’t been pruned in years, have been pruned improperly or sustain damage. The process of canopy restoration is long term project and will require multiple sessions over years to achieve a satisfactory result. Fortunately, maples are forgiving and can always be revived and rehabilitated with plenty of patience, tough love and a well thought out plan.
Training: Young trees grow vigorously once established. If left to their own devices, they can grow into undesirable forms. This is the critical time to set up trees for the future in order to prevent major problems.
*I can also train anyone who seeks some guidance and is receptive.
Consultation: I’m willing and able to help you best manage your trees. Trees are mostly an asset but can also become a liability. Many tree companies prey on peoples fear and ignorance concerning trees. I can offer an unbiased and educated a second opinion and management plan. A better plan will save time, money, effort and stress.
I can help you inventory what you have, create a management plan and also recommend tree/shrubs that would best suit your landscape. “The right tree in the right place.” is the arborist philosophy.
